Fort Gibraltar has been a historic gathering place since 1809; make your wedding, reception or special event part of our history. We offer a beautiful setting for weddings, ceremonies and receptions that is unique, inspired and personally yours.


Our wedding and reception venue is situated on the banks of the Red River, only two minutes from Portage and Main, Fort Gibraltar’s natural beauty will take you back two hundred years to the period of the voyageurs and the fur trade era of the Northwest.

Indoor and outdoor wedding ceremonies as well as receptions are made even more special with historical music and entertainment options and are highlighted by our natural, very special outdoor settings.

Beautiful tent weddings set up on our park like grounds on the banks of Winnipeg’s Red River offer one of the most picturesque settings within Winnipeg city limits.

In the past, wedding ceremonies and receptions held at Fort Gibraltar have ranged from completely historical events that take advantage of the natural setting, to absolutely elegant affairs with decorations of white tulle and lace. Most, truth be told, have ended up somewhere in between. Part of the charm of Fort Gibraltar is the ability the couple has to make the venue their own, unlike hotel ballrooms which can end up all looking the same. Overview

Fort Gibraltar has 3 areas for rent for your next historic gathering, corporate or wedding reception. The rooms are available for daytime (between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) or evenings (between 6 p.m. to 1a.m.). Outdoor spaces are also available for rental.

Two of the above rooms can accommodate indoor wedding ceremonies (The Great Hall – 160 people; The Partners' Room – 60 people). A ceremonial fee is at a fixed rate of $600 (ceremony only) or $400 (with reception on site after 4 p.m.). Fort Gibraltar can also host outdoor ceremonies for up to 200 people. Receptions in a tent are also permitted, with a fee based on the event.

Photography

Photo shoots can be booked at Fort Gibraltar at the cost of $125/hour. All photo shoots must be booked in advance by email at food@fortcatering.com.
